Riptide Dance Team

WELCOME

Our students develop their passion for dance through a multifaceted approach to their studies, with the first semester focusing on marching band auxiliary technique and the second semester focusing on various dance skills and styles, including contemporary, jazz, and hip hop. Rehearsals occur in the class during school time and after school at marching band and dance rehearsals. Joining Riptide Dance Team gives dancers the opportunity to perform at football games, recitals, parades, pep rallies, and much more!

    Once dancers have officially made the dance team, they are expected to attend a two-weeklong band camp where they learn stand tunes, marching basics, and choreography for the show.

Join the Family

Auditions for the 2023-2024 team will occur over three days, with dancers learning two dance combinations over the first two days and performing them for a panel of judges on the final day. The auditions will take place May 16th-18th from  5:00-6:30 PM in the FMHS Band Room. If you want to see if the team is the right fit for you before auditions, we will be hosting an Audition Prep Clinic May 15th at 5:00 PM in the FMHS Band Room.
